I love hosting dinner parties. There’s something so special about gathering around a table, savoring good food, and catching up with great company. It has definitely become one of my favorite things to do lately. I think I’ve hosted over 30 dinner parties since moving into our new home. Besides the cooking though, what I enjoy even more is decorating a pretty table, from setting it the right way to creating handmade beautiful decor.
This past weekend we were cleaning up our front and back yard, lots of leaves, and as I was spending time outside I was so inspired by all the beauty around me. And I wanted to bring that beauty to my Thanksgiving table. So I went around my yard searching for pretty plants, trees, and flowers, and when something caught my attention, I would add it to my little basket. Consequently I came back home with quite the variation of plants, but I carefully selected the greenest and prettiest. The result was this pretty nature-inspired table with a subtle pop of fuchsia. Oh how much I love a nice pop of color. I then added a few candles to create a calming talking ambiance. And to add a touch of elegance, I used hand-embroidered napkins with a golden bow-tied ribbon as a ring (similar to these ones).
You don’t need to spend large amounts of money to create your best happy and chic life – with the help of your own creativity, nature, and inspiration found all around us (including this blog hopefully! 😉 ) – if it makes you happy, that’s all the reasoning you need to decorate your home or dress yourself the way you choose to.
I’ll be posting a thanksgiving note on Thursday, but until then, let Thanksgiving prepping commence!
Psst. if you’re looking to bring a unique dessert recipe, other than the typical pie, they’ll definitely love this one 😉
